PLUMSTEAD BASEBALL
PITCHING MACHINE INFORMATION
Rules
- Only coaches to run the machine, no kids.
- Due to the league's insurance coverage, only registered Minor, Major, Connie Mack and Travel team players of Plumstead Baseball can bat in the cage with the pitching machine.
- Coaches, adults and non-Plumstead Baseball players cannot bat in batting cage.
- Only one coach and one batter is allowed in the cage while the pitching machine is in use.
- Coaches who open the shed are responsible for the rules of the pitching machine.
- If there are any problems with the pitching machine, put it back into the shed and lock it up. Please call Paul Demusz @215-795-2118.
- These rules and instructions will be posted on the web site as well as on the inside of the shed door.
Instructions
- The key to unlock the door is the same as the shed.
- The pitching machine is attached to a moving platform. Pull this out to desired position.
- Plug cord to outlet outside of cage.
- Outlet is a GFI outlet. It does not start the pitching machine. Reset the outlet.
- Special balls are with the pitching machine. Use only these balls and not the game balls.
- Make sure you pick up and put back all balls used in the shed with the pitching machine.
- On/Off switch as well as speed controls are on the machine.
- Before turning on the machine, make sure there is no one in the batting cage.
- Feed 4 – 6 balls
through the machine to set speed and location.
- After machine is set, allow batter into cage.
- Have batter stand away from plate on first pitch to allow him to see speed and location.
- Make sure the batter has a batting helmet on.
- If you have to adjust the machine, have the batter back away from the plate.
- After you are finished, wrap the cord up and push the machine back into the shed and lock the door.
